The Kigezi Wildlife Reserve is a game reserve established in 1952 in Uganda. The site has an area of 265 square kilometers (102 sq. mi). This reserve is a buffer between Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector, Maramagambo Forest and heavily populated areas to the south.
Kigezi is a refuge for elephants that move east from the Rwindi Plain in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and south from Queen Elizabeth NP at the start of the wet season.
