Democratic Republic of Congo is found in Central Africa consisting of many attractive things in her national parks. One of the most attractive things in Congo’s national parks are the gorillas found in two Congo’s national Parks of which Mountain gorillas are found in VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARK and the Low-land gorillas are found in KAHUZI-BIEGA NATIONAL PARK.

VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARK is absolutely Congo’s most visited Park due to the rare mountain gorillas which highly attract visitors from different countries to go and explore them and the luxury and good accommodations in the Park are some of the driving factors which attract tourists to make their gorilla tours in Congo. Accommodations in the Park include Mikeno lodge, Nyiragongo Volcano summit shelters, Tchegera Island tented camp and Bukima tented camp. Gorilla trekking in the Park starts at 08:30am and it takes place in Bukima patrol post where tourists will interact with all the eight habituated gorilla families in the Park. The tracking of gorillas is done in groups of 8 individuals per each group tracking and individuals tracking are allowed to interact with the gorillas for strictly one hour of which they will be viewing the primates keeping a distance of at least seven meters away from the primates such that they (tourists) don’t spread diseases to the primates.

Therefore, a gorilla safari in VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARK will give you a chance to view a variety of wildlife and birdlife which is rarely seen in Africa but usually and commonly seen in the Park. Your visit to the Park will also mean that you have visited the oldest and first gazzated Park on African continent which was gazetted in 1925 basically to save and protect gorillas.
