Find out mountain gorilla tours in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This Park is found in western parts of Uganda and it is one of the two Places in Uganda where mountain gorillas will be found. The Park also has other primates that it protects such as monkeys plus the huge number of bird species that it inhabits (over 350 bird species).
There many activities in the Park that you will be involved in though gorilla tracking is the main activity in the Park but also other activities include birding, nature walks and mountain climbing. Gorilla tracking is done in the thick forests of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and this makes the activity a challenging one that it needs someone to be physically and reasonably fit. To get a booking of gorilla tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, you are advised to pay the gorilla permit in advance and this gorilla permit will be purchased by the tour company you would have used. However, the Park has some rules you will follow which include; you should not litter in the Park, maintain maximum silence and be calm while tracking the gorillas and all the activities done in the Park will be headed by the Park rangers.
For the discovery of chimpanzees in Uganda you will need to visit Kibale Forest National Park the only best place for the chimpanzee trekkers though there are other places still in Uganda where these primates can be found like in Queen Elizabeth National Park and in Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary which is found in Mukono district on Lake Victoria. Chimpanzee permits should also be bought in advance in order to go for chimpanzee safaris in Kibale Forest National Park. The Park does not protect only the lives of chimpanzees but also it consists of over 300 species of birds, elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs and some antelope species thereby making it one of the most stunning Parks in Uganda.
For the birders, the best places in Uganda where birds are most seen is in Queen Elizabeth National Park which covers over 600 species of birds and in Kidepo Valley National Park which also inhabits almost 500 bird species plus in Semuliki National Park which is also regarded as ‘’the true birders’ haven’’ because birding is the most famous activity in the Park and birders who will make it to Semuliki National Park will be rewarded with some of Africa’s best forest birding. Sempaya and Ntandi which are found in Semuliki National Park provide excellent viewing of the birds such as white-crested horn bill, red-billed dwarf horn bill, piping horn bill, yellow - throated nicator and many more birds.
For the mountain hikers, Uganda has one of the largest mountains in Africa which include mountain Elgon and mountain Rwenzori. The snow capped peak in mountain Rwenzori is one of the few pristine and spectacular landscapes of the world. Mountain Elgon has the largest volcanic base in the world and this makes it an ideal place for the hikers to go and discover such a place in Uganda.
