Best Primate Tours in Uganda & Congo

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in Kisoro town and the town is 14km from ‘’Ntebeko’’ the main entrance to the park. The park is mostly known for protecting mountain gorillas but it is also a home to golden monkeys. The park is too close to Virunga national park in Congo and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda simply because they all lie in the Virunga conservation area; therefore, it is simply to access Virunga National Park in Congo through Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Virunga National Park is the only home for mountain gorillas in Congo though in the same park, a tourist can also have some chances of seeing other primates such as chimpanzees and low land gorillas though they are rarely seen.

These primates have rules to follow before going in for their tours including; you have to maintain maximum silence in the park, no smoking within the park, be clean, primates are tracked in at least 8 groups per day, you should not stay with the primates for so long, only one hour is allowed to be with the primates, you should not litter in the park, primate tracking starts very early in the morning at around 08:00am and for toilet manners you will be allowed to dig a hole aside from the primates, and these primates are best tracked through using tour companies which makes your primate tour a better and simple one. These tour companies will be able to buy for you the primate permits on your behalf because it is very difficult especially for tourists from far/abroad to purchase the primate permits and these primate permits are bought in advance and three weeks before your tour.
