Uganda Martyrs' Shrine Tours, 26 young men on their refusal to accept Kabaka’s order, they were burned to death on 3rd/6/1886. These were buried at Namugongo which was later transformed to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine where both the Anglican and catholic shrines are found. The reason behind the construction of this site was to commemorate the lives of the Martyrs, the place if found in the northeast of Kampala. On June 3 each year, Catholic pilgrims from different countries visit the Martyrs’ Shrine to pay their respects and attend mass.
Kabaka’s Lake, this is another man made Lake found in Uganda around Ndeba, this is found around Kampala-Masaka road 5km off the city centre. This was dug by former Buganda king Mwanga. This lake is considered a sacred place by the Baganda who keep it clean; boat racing can be done here including some excursions. The place has got a conducive environment suitable for having a day rest, this is visited by a number of people most especially those who are more enthusiastic with discoveries.
From here visitors can proceed to Jinja where they can enjoy, Jinja is located at the confluence of Lake Victoria and River Nile. The district is bordered by Mukono and Kayunga to the west, Mayuge and Iganga to the east plus Kamuli to the north, this is the second largest town in Uganda and an important industrial centre. Source of the Nile, this is an internationally recognized scene, River Nile is the second largest river in the world, this was first discovered by a European explorer by names of Speke. This is a unique attraction which is liked by every tourist in Jinja since the place is too amazing with a nice to stay environment. Bujagali Falls, this is another fascinating place in Jinja suitable for a visit, the falls are on River Nile its self and it is found around 10km from Jinja town, this place offers an attractive scenery and facilitates rafting activities, bird watchers also utilize this opportunity to enjoy the different bird species that wander on the Riverine.
